Let the Brainstorming Begin

Hello Ladies,
I thought that we should get started brainstorming for the Main Drain Branding.  Instead of going back and forth with emails, I thought we could try to go with a blog - that way we can more easily keep track of amazing ideas we have have them all in one place rather than having to search back in emails.

If you would rather just email ideas, no problem.  I won't be offended.

So, since our task is to brand the main drain, I guess it might start by brainstorming what the main drain represents.  I see it as being something that is inclusive, wanting to get everyone involved, this growing sense of community.  The other obvious things are: the garden and the actual main drain path that encourages people to walk, be active, etc.

We need to figure out T-shirts, name tags (for community events), signs, banners, hats, slogans, website/blog, etc.

So, not sure where we go from here.  Do you guys want to brainstorm via email/blog for a bit and then meet or do you think we would be more productive if we just sat down together?

I am open to anything.
Let me know what you think.

Ok good now I know this works.

This should be a great tool to brian storm.

Julie I like your thoughts on what the main drain represents. I see it as community involvement, beautification, local produce and active living.

As for the logo, I liked Chips idea of having a kids drawings be the logo. Maybe we could have a contest and have kids in the neighborhood over the age of 5 draw a picture of a sunflower with families or kids playing under it. We could use our favorite and give the winner a frozen yogurt gift card or something. We could use the logo for everything we need (tshirts, website, banners, signs, etc...). What are you thoughts? If you two like it I can make fliers to post around the neighborhood about the contest and have them bring the art work to my house by a certain date.

I also had an idea for signs for the two main gardens. I though the signs could say Main Drain Community Garden then have hanging signs under it that say what can be picked at that time. Maybe we could also have a donation lock box on it so people can donate if they want. I could make the signs pretty easy with plywood and paint.

This is all I have for now. Let me know your thoughts.
